Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a type of treatment where small needles are inserted into the skin, at specific key points across the body. The treatment requires specialist knowledge and accurate diagnosis and should always be performed by a certified practitioner.

Acupuncture for the treatment of pain is a common treatment offered by chartered physiotherapists. As well as reducing pain, acupuncture can actively improve rates of healing and recovery, thereby enhancing treatment outcomes for patients.

At Bode Clinic our senior physiotherapists are trained and certified by the AACP in western acupuncture as a post-graduate study, ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care and quality assurance.

Acupuncture is one of the many skills used within physiotherapy as an integrated approach to the management of pain and inflammation and as a means of stimulating the bodys own healing chemicals in order to aid recovery and enhance rehabilitation.

Acupuncture within physiotherapy is used against the background of clinical and research evidence. The concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine [TCM] is an ancient system of written scripts as far back as 1000BC, founded on the holistic concept of treatment and an acknowledgement of the bodys ability to return to its balanced state of health, given the correct stimulus to do so.

Suffering from knee pain? 🦵😖
Bode clinic is one of Manchester’s few approved clinics to deliver Ostenil Plus injections which is a single injection specifically developed for the treatment of osteoarthritis.
This injection is like a WD-40 for the knees, lubricating the joint and reduces the pain in your knee.
What happens in the joint after the injection?
- An injection of sodium hyaluronate increases the viscosity of the synovial fluid, restoring its lubricating, shock-absorbing and filtering properties.*
- Re-establishes the protective coating of hyaluronan over the inner surface of the joint and increases the scavenging of free radicals.*
- As a result of these changes, sodium hyaluronate reduces inflammation of the synovial membrane.*
.
Get pain free before Xmas, book your appointment today for a #free consultation and discuss if this treatment is just what you need.
NOT available in the NHS
NO referral needed
NO rest or recovery time needed after the injection
