Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a type of treatment where small needles are inserted into the skin, at specific key points across the body. The treatment requires specialist knowledge and accurate diagnosis and should always be performed by a certified practitioner.

Acupuncture for the treatment of pain is a common treatment offered by chartered physiotherapists. As well as reducing pain, acupuncture can actively improve rates of healing and recovery, thereby enhancing treatment outcomes for patients.

At Bode Clinic our senior physiotherapists are trained and certified by the AACP in western acupuncture as a post-graduate study, ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care and quality assurance.

Acupuncture is one of the many skills used within physiotherapy as an integrated approach to the management of pain and inflammation and as a means of stimulating the bodys own healing chemicals in order to aid recovery and enhance rehabilitation.

Acupuncture within physiotherapy is used against the background of clinical and research evidence. The concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine [TCM] is an ancient system of written scripts as far back as 1000BC, founded on the holistic concept of treatment and an acknowledgement of the bodys ability to return to its balanced state of health, given the correct stimulus to do so.

Who’s doing #soberoctober? 🙋🏼‍♀️

It might be getting tough 15 days in but it’s important to remember the benefits of cutting back on the booze - your body and your wallet will thank you!

💤 A BETTER NIGHT’S SLEEP 💤
Some people say “well I sleep better when I’ve had a drink”, but drinking interrupts your REM sleep, which is the most restorative time for you when you’re asleep. 😴
Missing out on REM sleep is why we wake wake up feeling a bit groggy after a night of drinking, so going sober will help you wake up refreshed and ready for the day! ☀️

🏃🏽‍♂️ MORE ENERGY 🏃🏼‍♀️
Shockingly, getting a better night’s sleep means you will have more energy!

💰 MORE CASH 💰
How much money do you spend on alcohol every week? Every month? Every y- 🤦🏽‍♀️ (we don’t want to think about that one).
Skipping the drink means not having to fork out for a couple of G&Ts, but it also means you’re not going to want a takeaway after, before getting in an Uber home - it all adds up! 🥵

🧖🏼‍♀️ CLEARER SKIN 💆🏻‍♀️
When you’re sober, your skin will definitely thank you. Less darkness around your eyes, softened wrinkles and even spots and acne can fade.
