Food Intolerance Testing

Food intolerance is a condition with a range of symptoms including bloating, headaches, migraines, low mood, fatigue, weight gain and skin problems. These symptoms must always be checked out by a Medical Professional. If you have have seen a Medical Professional but have not been given a diagnosis for your symptoms then you may be suffering from food intolerance.

Clinicians at Bode Clinic are trained to perform food intolerance testing using a testing kit provided by Lorisian. By undergoing a food intolerance test we can help you fast track your elimination diet and help optimise your health and wellbeing.

Food intolerance is quite different to food allergy and whilst the symptoms can impact the person’s quality of life they are not life threatening.

Many people suffer for years without realising there are easy steps to take that could resolve their condition.

Food intolerances are much more common than food allergies, and if you think you are suffering from a food intolerance please do not hesitate to get in touch for more information

Ice or heat? Which one should you use?
.
.
It’s easy to get confused, and some of the literature out there can be a bit conflicting. To be fair, they don’t seem to agree on an correct answer. We try to make it simple..
1. Recent injury, e.g twisted ankle, pulled a muscle during exercise, impact injury -> use ice
2. Tight muscles in the neck after long day at work -> heat
.
If the muscles just feel sore and tight the heat can help soften up the tissue and become easier to stretch and move.
.
Ice can help to reduce swelling in the injured area and work as a pain relief.
.
Both heat and ice can be used as a pain relief, and some prefer ice on their sore neck muscles whilst others prefer heat. But for acute injuries use ice 😊
.
!!!!Remember!!!!
-Never put ice or heat directly on the skin, use a towel or clothing to avoid direct skin contact which can lead to burns
-Don’t use ice on the head injuries
