Personal Training

Bode Clinic works closely with personal trainers from Form Mcr which is located within the same building as our clinic. Together we can develop an exceptional treatment plan where your physio can focus on diagnostics and develop your treatment plan, and you can use our personal trainers from Form to guide your gym sessions to enhance your rehabilitation.

You can read more about the team at Form here

We are also proud to have Personal Trainer Stephen Fone as part of our team offering expert advice in weight loss, and injury recovery. During his time as a professional ice hockey player Stephen suffered a good few injuries which required serious rehabilitation in order to return to sport. Stephen understands the importance of bouncing back from an injury and return to sport stronger than prior to the injury, and anyone wanting to receive rehab guidance from Stephen will be in safe hands.

Stephen also provides wellness seminars where he discusses different topics within health, sport and lifestyle for business companies, groups, youth clubs and professional sports clubs.
Popular topics: 5 steps to a healthier lifestyle, fat loss made simple, How to make your training more efficient, Mythbusting diet products

❄️FROZEN SHOULDER❄️
Or adhesive capsulitis which is the techincal term.
A frozen shoulder is thought to happen when scar tissue forms in the shoulder and causing the joint capsule to thicken and tighten, leaving less room for movement.
Although it is easy to diagnose, frozen shoulder does often get confused with other conditions (like impingement, subluxation and yes I’ve even had patient being told they have a fracture and shouldn’t move the shoulder 🤦‍♀️).
The cause: can sometimes be a bit of a mystery, but in this case it doesn’t matter too much, we just need to treat it!
We have 3 stages:
1. Freezing stage; shoulder is gradually becoming more stiff and painful
2. Frozen stage; the pain is settling down a bit but the stiffness is still present
3. Thawing stage; shoulder is gradually improving with more range of movement and reduced pain
It can be triggered by immobility, underuse OR overuse injury, and people with diabetes are at much more risk of getting it.
It CAN heal itself, but it can take months, years and sometimes can be permanent.
Our advice is; get treatment as soon as you can!
Timeframe: anything from 6 months to 2 years (the sooner you get treatment, the quicker it will resolve)
