What our patients are saying

Kristin has magic hands! She always works wonders on my back. It’s clear from the moment you meet her she is passionate and extremely knowledgeable in her field. After a couple of sessions of physio Kristin suggested acupuncture to relieve the muscle which was difficult to locate with her hands alone. I was a bit dubious and anxious of the acupuncture but totally trusted in Kristin’s ability and it needless to say it worked a treat. I have since recommended her to friends and will continue to visit her in the future.

Kristin is always my go to physio for any problems picked up on the football pitch. I always feel I am in the best hands whenever I visit her. I leave the physio room feeling better than before, taking the best advice and having the best care to get better in no time. I never worry about any injury that may occur as I am so sure Kristin will fix me up and get me back on the pitch. I am very lucky and privileged to have Kristin as my physio.

Hannah Mitchel

Midfielder Fylde Ladies

During my time as a professional ice hockey player I relied heavily on Kristin to speed up my recovery following training and games throughout the season. With my intense training programme the weekly sports massages helped me stay injury free, gave me guidance on injury prevention and ensured my recovery was rapid so I felt fresh for the next training session.

Ben Wood

Ex Manchester Phoenix Player

I noticed a difference after the first treatment with Kristin. She wasted no time getting to the root of my issue and now it feels like I’m walking on air, and I am now much more comfortable sitting at my desk.

Phoebe Duggan

25 weeks pregnant, Accountant manager Bugaboo

As a more senior patient, Kristin at Bode initially helped me with some pulls and tightness when I started training ahead of a planned skiing trip. I suffered a dislocated shoulder on that trip and she got me back into gym straight away with a controlled set of exercises. Since then Kristin has helped me keep training and improved my posture, she has the ability to get straight to issue and work hard on the effected area, and I would highly recommend her to anyone, young or old.

❄️FROZEN SHOULDER❄️
Or adhesive capsulitis which is the techincal term.
A frozen shoulder is thought to happen when scar tissue forms in the shoulder and causing the joint capsule to thicken and tighten, leaving less room for movement.
Although it is easy to diagnose, frozen shoulder does often get confused with other conditions (like impingement, subluxation and yes I’ve even had patient being told they have a fracture and shouldn’t move the shoulder 🤦‍♀️).
The cause: can sometimes be a bit of a mystery, but in this case it doesn’t matter too much, we just need to treat it!
We have 3 stages:
1. Freezing stage; shoulder is gradually becoming more stiff and painful
2. Frozen stage; the pain is settling down a bit but the stiffness is still present
3. Thawing stage; shoulder is gradually improving with more range of movement and reduced pain
It can be triggered by immobility, underuse OR overuse injury, and people with diabetes are at much more risk of getting it.
It CAN heal itself, but it can take months, years and sometimes can be permanent.
Our advice is; get treatment as soon as you can!
Timeframe: anything from 6 months to 2 years (the sooner you get treatment, the quicker it will resolve)
